Verizon wireless, a well know mobile Smartphone provider in the USA bring us LTE (Long term evolution), XLTE for faster speeds, and the all new voice over LTE (VoLTE)! They now have a Smartphone arsenal under their belt, this great portfolio of devices is hands down by far all out war over other USA Smartphone carriers! As this year is coming to an end, life with Verizon can now be calm.
Introduction
Let’s talk about the top 6 Smartphone’s they have to date, not in any particular order just a list of well respected devices! Service is always key but we all need a great device that compliments the service and having choices is a plus in my book! So let’s dig deeper and get to know what Big Red has to offer?
Release date September 19, 2014. Both twins of character but marginally different, bringing seamless elegance to design, thin approach, familiar look, bigger body footprint than their previous predecessors, and the same simplicity OS we all know as (IOS 8)! Both one category in this post, the two have slightly different approaches and the biggest is size! Specs can be found here. For a great YouTube video playlist review by Joshua Bane click here.
This contender available as of July 17th 2014. Bringing a small top to bottom and side to side bezel less design, button free frame (buttons on the back), gorgeous quad HD (1440p) display, and pricing for a 2 year contract is $149.99 and off contract at $599.99 for the 32GB variant. - Note 4 and Note Edge
Both announced in October 2014, but one released now on Verizon wireless (Note 4). No word if the Edge is coming to Verizon or not. Same philosophy but one adding edgy specs, an edge screen to add more functionality with a curved display. The S Pen is the greatest feature on both giving a paper and pen like functionality on a 5.7” Quad HD Super AMOLED (2560 x1440) display, and premium build quality aluminum frame with chamfered edges! Specs for the Note 4 can be found here and Note Edge here. For a great Note 4 YouTube video review by iTechTriad click here and Note Edge pre-released live hands on by Joshua Bane click here.
(Droid) line exclusive to Verizon wireless, the all new Droid Turbo! Release Date October 30th 2014, three variants of this device with the same name. Two adding colors, Red and Black and one adding ballistic nylon build quality as its outer shell! This phone packs a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440) Gorilla Glass 3 display and a whopping 3900mAh battery! My 2014 personal favorite pick of the year, unveiled on October 15, 2014 and available for pre-order October 29, 2014. (Verizon Wireless Please don’t mess this up again) Google’s reference device, coming in two sizes 32gb and 64gb plus two colors, Cloud White and Midnight Blue! 5.96” AMOLED 1440×2560 16:9 aspect ratio 493 ppi Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, and running the all new Android Lollipop 5.0 pure Android experience! We now have this device (In-house), Specs for the Nexus 6 can be found here, for a great YouTube playlist video review by Joshua Bane click here, and for a how to root written companion from Bane-Tech.com click here!
Conclusion
This year ended with a bang bringing us the largest IPhone to date (That’s what they said), LG’s smartest smallest footprint (Rear facing buttons with small bezels a plus), Motorola’s last year’s design your own phone philosophy (Mines looks better than yours), Samsung’s go big and gorgeous or go home (Out with the old plastic in with the new metal, plus plastic), Motorola’s rugged build quality and long lasting battery life (I can’t complain), and last Google’s Nexus 6 AKA-Shamu a bigger step into pure Android we all should love (by Motorola a Lenovo company)! Each device has been a great addition by far and now I can say that I’m happy to still be a Verizon wireless customer! We would like to know what’s your opinion?
