Josh raises his fists during a staged fight demonstration at the aosu security camera booth at IFA 2026.

I Picked a Fight at aosu’s Booth to Test Its AI Security Cameras

Most people visit a security camera booth to look at the cameras. I apparently go there to throw hands. At IFA 2026 in Berlin, we staged a fake fist fight at the aosu booth to see whether its AI security cameras would recognize a potentially dangerous situation and send an alert.

No actual fighting. Just a very unusual product demonstration.

Watch the video below to see how the test played out, then take a closer look at the smart home security technology aosu brought to IFA.

Can an AI Security Camera Tell When Something Is Wrong?

A camera recording movement is one thing. Understanding what that movement might mean is a much more interesting challenge.

Someone walking through a scene, waving to a friend, or throwing a pretend punch can all create motion. The question we wanted to explore at the aosu booth was whether the system could interpret a potentially dangerous interaction and bring it to our attention.

That is where our mock fight came in.

We raised our fists and acted out a confrontation as part of the demonstration. It was a playful way to explore a serious question: how useful can AI become when a security system needs to understand more than “something moved”?

Inside the aosu Booth at IFA 2026

The fight test was the attention grabber, but aosu’s IFA showcase covered a broader home security ecosystem.

The company’s lineup included the SolarCam T2 family, the aosuCortex security hub, and the Video Doorbell R2 Ultra. Across the showcase, the focus was on connecting cameras, improving visibility, and making security information easier to understand.

Rather than treating every camera as a separate window into your property, the idea is to bring more of that information together.

For homeowners, that raises practical questions. Can you find the moment you need quickly? Can you understand what happened across multiple cameras? And can the system help you sort useful alerts from everyday activity?

Those are the kinds of questions that make a live demonstration worth watching.

aosuCortex: Bringing the Security System Together

aosu describes aosuCortex as the AI brain behind its home security ecosystem.

According to the company’s IFA materials, its capabilities include connected camera footage, identity recognition features, natural-language search, and AI-generated summaries.

The appeal is straightforward: spending less time digging through recordings and more time understanding the event you actually care about.

These are the capabilities aosu presented at the show. A booth demonstration offers a first look, while long-term use at home is where reliability, notification behavior, and everyday usefulness become clearer.

SolarCam T2 Cameras and the R2 Ultra Doorbell

The SolarCam T2 lineup was another part of aosu’s IFA showcase, with different models emphasizing viewing coverage, zoom, tracking, and nighttime image quality.

The Video Doorbell R2 Ultra was also featured, with aosu highlighting a panoramic view and AI features related to visitors and packages.

If you are comparing products, check the specifications for the exact model you are considering. Camera capabilities, storage options, power requirements, and subscription features can differ throughout a lineup.

What I Look for Beyond the AI Features

An interesting AI demonstration can get my attention, but there are still everyday questions I want answered before choosing a home security system:

• Image quality: Can you make out the details you actually need?

• Useful notifications: Do alerts help you respond, or do they become background noise?

• Recording and storage: Where is footage saved, and how easy is it to retrieve?

• Installation and power: Does the setup work for the places you need to monitor?

• Ongoing costs: Which features are included, and which require an optional plan?

• Privacy and control: Who can access recordings, and what settings can you manage?

The mock fight made this booth visit memorable. Those practical details are what make a security system worth living with.

Would you trust an AI security camera to recognize when an interaction becomes dangerous?

Our staged fight gave us a chance to explore that question at IFA, with a few laughs along the way.
