Samsung finally did the smartwatch thing right

Samsung announced a couple new smartwatches at IFA 2015 that include the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic. Samsung has released quite a bit of models of smartwatches. They were among the first to enter into uncharted territory of smartwatches at the time they started selling em. Many users really like the Samsung lineup of smartwatches because of the features and functions. Samsung for the most part has the most experience in the Android smartwatch world, well Tizen as well. Let’s just say smartwatches that work with Android devices. But there has been one thing they have been doing wrong this whole time, until now.

Up until now Samsung smartwatches (other than the Live) has only worked with Samsung phones. While this might have been a marketing tactic in my opinion it has been the thing that has held Samsung back in the smartwatch market. Let’s face it, the only company that can make a watch only work with their products is Apple. Samsung strives to outdo Apple in every way, but they are not going to be able to dominate the smartwatch market by making their watches only compatible with Samsung devices. This time around Samsung is opening up compatibility with other Android phone manufactures.

The sole reason I have not bought a Samsung smartwatch is because I cannot guarantee I am going to be using a Samsung phone for a given amount of time. For example, I am using an LG G4 right now and plan to get the Moto X Pure Edition next. To which neither would work with any previous Samsung watches. Mind I don’t count the Gear Live because it’s boring and there are other options like the Moto 360 that looks like a real watch and not a toy.

Now if I am in the market for a new smartwatch there are many more option to choose from and this is the first time I would consider getting one of the new Samsung smartwatches. This year really does have quite the options of smartwatches to choose from. Which are you most interested in? Sound off in the comments!
