The final quarter of a great year of mobile phones is proving to be somewhat of a Nirvana for those with the money to afford what they want. I don’t count myself as one of that selective group, though I’ll purchase what I can. But, if you have the $, your choices in the latest and greatest smartphone technology are quite appealing.
I’m not even mentioning the Samsung Galaxy Note 8or the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
which just came out and are already among the best devices one can buy. I’m only speaking of what’s still to come.
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have just been announced. The LG V30 went up for pre-order this week.
The Apple iPhone X has been announced and will be up for pre-order at the end of the month.
The Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will be announced from Berlin on the 16th.
And, not to be outdone, ZTE is expected to break new ground with the ZTE Axon Multy (or ZTE Axon M), the first phone with a truly foldable screen we’re told, in New York on the 17th.
Yes, expensive devices for the most part, but if you’re a technology nerd, an end-of-year that will be difficult to top. Hopefully, ZTE will break that “costly” mold by continuing their trend of offering great devices for less or much less than most OEM’s. That’ still to be determined.
But, if you’re in the market for a new, latest and greatest smartphone, now is a great time to be shopping. In my opinion, 2017 had been a wonderful year of mobile devices and it appears to be ending on a great high note. If 2018 is anywhere near as good, we’re all in for another great device year.
