What if your TV could actually adjust itself based on how you’re watching it?
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, I visited PERLEGEAR, HUANUO, and AMADA to check out some of their latest smart-home and ergonomic technology. The product that immediately grabbed my attention was the PERLEGEAR AX1 Smart Adaptive TV Wall Mount.
Most TV mounts are simple: you pick a height, mount the TV, and that’s where it stays.
The AX1 takes a very different approach.
Instead of forcing you to adapt to your TV, the TV can adapt to you.

Meet the PERLEGEAR AX1 Smart Adaptive TV Mount
The AX1 combines a motorized TV wall mount with viewing-position sensing designed to automatically change the vertical position of your television.
Think about how many different ways you use a TV.
You might sit normally on the couch to watch a movie. Later, you’re standing while doing something around the room. You might recline farther back while relaxing. Different members of the family can also have completely different ideal viewing heights.
A traditional TV mount has to compromise between all of those positions.
The PERLEGEAR AX1 is designed to adjust instead.
The system can recognize different viewing postures, including sitting, standing, and reclining, and adjust the TV’s position accordingly.
That’s what made this much more interesting to me than simply seeing another motorized TV mount.
An AI TV Mount That Moves With You
The AX1 uses viewing-position sensing to determine where the viewer is positioned and adjust the television accordingly.
Seeing it happen in person at IFA made the concept click much faster than simply reading a list of features.
You move.
The TV moves.
Instead of thinking about the AX1 as simply a motorized wall mount, it makes more sense to think about it as an adaptive part of your home theater.
The concept becomes particularly interesting in a shared living space where different people may want completely different viewing positions.
You Still Have Control
Automatic adjustment doesn’t mean you’re giving up control of your TV position.
PERLEGEAR is also building traditional smart controls into the system, including options for app, voice, and gesture control, along with personalized viewing positions.
That’s important because I don’t necessarily want my television moving every single time I change positions.
The ideal implementation gives you the benefits of automation when you want them while still allowing you to control the system manually when you don’t.
This Makes More Sense With Really Big TVs
We’re also living in a very different TV market than we were a decade ago.
75-inch TVs have become relatively common, and 85-inch, 98-inch, and even larger displays are becoming increasingly accessible.
Once you’re dealing with a massive television mounted to a wall, manually changing its position isn’t exactly practical.
That’s where a system like the AX1 starts becoming much more compelling.
Rather than physically repositioning an enormous display, the mounting system itself does the work.

HUANUO Is Making the Desk More Adaptive Too
The TV mount wasn’t the only product at the booth experimenting with movement.
I also spent some time checking out HUANUO’s latest ergonomic workspace products.
One of the more interesting concepts was an Electric Tilting Sit-Stand Desk.
We’ve seen plenty of standing desks that move up and down, but this takes the idea further. The front work surface can tilt while the section holding your monitors remains level.
That creates some interesting possibilities for drawing, editing, writing, working with tablets, or simply finding a more comfortable working position.
As someone who spends a ridiculous amount of time sitting behind a computer editing videos and photos, I’m always interested in products that let me change positions throughout the day.

And Then There’s the Big & Tall Chair
I also got to try HUANUO’s Big & Tall Chair, which ended up being one of the more entertaining parts of my booth visit.
I’m 6’3″, so chairs are one of those products where specifications don’t tell me everything I need to know.
I need to actually sit in them.
Having a larger seat, adjustable support, and enough room to comfortably change positions can make a huge difference when you’re sitting at a desk for hours.
And yes, I absolutely tested how far back I could recline while still using the computer.
Sometimes you have to do important research.
AMADA Takes the Smart-Home Concept Into the Living Room
The booth continued into smart furniture from AMADA, including powered living-room furniture and smart bed concepts.
One of the more unusual products was the Soundwave Mattress, which incorporates sound and vibration into the relaxation experience.
It’s another example of a theme I kept seeing throughout this booth:
Instead of making people adapt to furniture and technology, they’re trying to make the environment adapt to the person.
The PERLEGEAR mount changes the television position.
HUANUO changes your working position.
AMADA brings similar thinking into relaxation and recovery.
That’s a much more interesting definition of a “smart home” to me than simply putting Wi-Fi into another appliance.
Is an AI TV Mount Actually Necessary?
That’s probably the biggest question surrounding the PERLEGEAR AX1.
Do we need an AI-powered TV mount?
Probably not.
But that’s not necessarily the interesting question.
We’ve spent years making televisions smarter.
Displays have gotten larger. Picture quality has dramatically improved. We have automated lighting, voice assistants, smart-home routines, advanced audio systems, and increasingly elaborate home theaters.
Yet after spending thousands of dollars building these setups, we typically bolt the TV to the wall at one height and never move it again.
PERLEGEAR is asking a surprisingly reasonable question:
Why should the screen stay fixed when the people watching it don’t?
I don’t know yet whether adaptive TV mounts are going to become commonplace.
But after seeing the AX1 working in person at IFA, I understand the idea much better.
And that’s exactly why I enjoy covering shows like IFA.
Sometimes the most interesting products aren’t improvements to something we already use.
They’re products that make you question why we’ve been doing something the same way for so long.
