If you’ve owned Samsung devices lately, you know the struggle when trying to use a screen protector. Typically I like to use a tempered glass when I can because I like the feel of glass vs plastic. This year Samsung is shipping S10 variants with a pre-installed screen protector.
If you don’t mind what Samsung will provide, you can get away with not having to spend the extra cash for a screen protector.
Whitestone Dome tempered glass claims to be the only tempered glass that can be used with the new S10s. I will have to agree. Every model prior to the S10, any other company other than Whitestone is just trash. They don’t work well and take away from the touch screen experience.
What I ended using was the “orange peel” screen protectors, but they felt like plastic. Even though the devices are worth around a thousand bucks, I still didn’t want to pay for a $50 screen protector. Whitestone Dome is the best though.
All that said, I am going to see what the pre-installed Samsung one is like. If it’s less than satisfying I will use a review screen protector that was sent to me or bite the bullet and get the Dome.
The main reason for providing their own screen protector is due to the in-screen fingerprint reader. They want to ensure that the area is protected and functioning at all times. It’s a nice gesture for sure.
