Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus

First Look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus

Samsung has just finished their release of their two new phones, the Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. Both of these phones are tanks when it comes to specs and features as well as keeping a great design. Both these beautiful phones are made of metal frames and glass back like the S6 and S6 Edge.  The Note 5 is now thinner, smaller and lighter when compared to its predecessor, the Note 4. The Note 5 also has curved edges on the back, allow the phone to fit much better in the hand and seem smaller than it is.

Both phones have a 5.7 inch QHD Super AMOLED displays, giving you sharp images, vivid contrasts and deep blacks. They both pack 4 GB RAM for some serious multitasking and a 16 MP camera on the back with OIS and a software based image stabilizer to take great pictures. Samsung calls the software based image stabilizer VDIS. They also shoot crispy 4K video.  The Note 5 now has a smaller 3000 mAh battery. My favorite feature is the Samsung’s own Quick Wireless Charging (finally!), allow you to go from 0 to 100% in just 2 hours! Thats 30% faster than the previous wireless charging. Samsung showed us an attachable keyboard case, which takes a page from Blackberry’s book, that is simple to use and can be attached to the back when you aren’t using it.

The Note 5 has an improved S-Pen like always, this time it is much easier to remove as it has a sort of ‘click mechanism, meaning you don’t have to use your fingernail anymore to take it out. A great new feature with the S-Pen is you can write on theNote when the screen is off, allowing you get those quick notes (no pun intended) down without having to unlock or even turn on your phone.

The S6 Edge Plus is very similar but obviously has the dual edges on the sides. The new edges have a smaller bezel compared to the normal S6 Edge, and they also have dome new features like Apps Edge which lets you swipe from the edge to easily access some of your favorite apps.

Samsung showed us how they kept a big screen in a smaller body as the devices are smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus. Both these phones will be available on August 21 with US pre orders starting today. The price of these two are still unknown but I’m assuming they will be much more expensive than the S6 and S6 Edge.
