The OM/One – a levitating Bluetooth speaker

A Bluetooth speaker that not only has a beautiful design, but floats. Audio developer OM Audio launched a new crowdfunding campaign today to raise money for the OM/One. A beautiful spherical speaker (6.3 inches x diameter x 1.6 inches height) that levitates as it spins slowly above it’s base. The OM/One can connect to most Bluetooth devies via Bluetooth 4.0 for approximately 33 feet. Om Audio is already more than halfway to the $100,000 goal that they set. While we all probably have a number of Bluetooth speakers around the house, I don’t currently have anything this cool. With two of the devices, you can pair them for stereo. The Om/One also includes a microphone, allowing phone conversations. It will initially be available in black, white and disco ball. Backers who get in on the crowdfunding early can get it for $179 with a portion of the proceeds going to Immunity Project, a non-profit working to create a free HIV vacinne.

The OM/One is expected to begin shipping in the November/December time frame. Seems to me that this would make a pretty nice Christmas present. To others and, of course, to me.
