Keeping the Meaning of Christmas

Keeping the Meaning of Christmas

And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 NLT)

One of the questions that has risen in my thoughts is “What will be the first thing you will think about when you wake up Christmas Morning?”

Will it be the presents? The days events? Jesus and His birthday? Worries and or concerns? How much you miss someone and wish they were there with you during this holiday/celebration?

Honestly you can’t really know what the first thought will be. As I thought about this question and thought about any of the possible thoughts that could be thought as soon as I wake… I would have to say all the above lol.

I love my Savior. He has done so much for me and I am so thankful for Him coming to Earth for my family, friends and I. With that being said, I do hope that my first thought is a thought of gratitude for Jesus. He is the best thing that has ever happened period. It if not that thought. I know He know that I love him and that He is on my heart and Christmas Day is reserved for Him. God sent His only Son for this world. My world. Your world.

Now I ain’t gonna lie. I can only imagine all the thoughts and emotions that will happen on Christmas Day. I can’t wait to share special moments with my family. This is the first Christmas without my Dad. I miss him a ton! I want him here to share all the special moments with my lil girl Olivia. He loved her so much and enjoyed every moment with her while he was still alive. She was one of the only things that brought a smile to my Dad even when he was suffering from cancer on his death bed. I’ll never forget that moment. But in the same breath I am quite jealous that he gets to party with Jesus in heaven with God and the angels. That’s got to be quite the scene.

Needless to say Christmas Day is and will be full of many thoughts, emotions and experiences. My prayer for everyone is that we keep in mind of why we celebrate Christmas. Jesus.

Throughout the course of the day. I encourage you to wish Jesus happy birthday, talk to Him and love on our Savior.
