The long awaited and much anticipated IPhone 6 is out. Along with the watch that’s not called the IWatch. Announced today at the Flint Center in Cupertino, California were two new IPhones. The IPhone 6, a 4.7 inch phone breaking new ground for Apple with this larger device that IPhone users will need to adjust to. And, for an even bigger adjustment, an even bigger phone. The IPhone 6 Plus at 5.5 inches, which seems to have been name specifically to complete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The new phones with 2 year contracts will be priced at $199 for the 16 gig IPhone 6, $299 for the 16 gig IPhone 6 Plus, $ 299 for the 64 gig IPhone 6, $399 for the 64 gig IPhone 6 Plus, $399 for the 128 gig IPhone 6 and $499 for the 128 gig IPhone 6 Plus. If I’ve confused you with all the numbers, just reread and it will become clear. That’s what I did. And no, I didn’t leave out the 32 gigabyte version. It seems Apple has decided to forgo that storage boundary and go straight from 16 to 64.

CEO Tim Cook said, “These are not only the best phones in the world; they really are a great value in the world.” Both new models are scheduled to start shipping in the US on Friday, September 19. Apple will start accepting pre-orders this Friday, September 12. Apple plans to have the IPhone 6 and IPhone 6 Plus available in as many as 115 countries world-wide by the end of the year.

In addition to the new IPhone’s, Apple announced the new Apple Watch. This highly anticipated first Apple wearable combines health and fitness monitoring with mobile computer capabilities. The Apple Watch has a sapphire display, four sensors on the back, NFC, Apple Pay and a choice of six straps. And, Apple being Apple, there is a proprietary connecting mechanism, so you’ll need to stick with their bands. Surprisingly, Apple did not choose to go round, but came up with a square watch. It has curved edges, a hardware dial (like a regular watch), which Apple calls a Digital Crown, to be used for navigation through the menus, zooming and more. The Apple Watch is compatible with the IPhone 5 and above and the starting price will be $350. It will act as a fitness tracker, and a dedicated sports watch, complete with “Activity” and “Workout” apps. The launce data is still the rumored 2015, which could mean any time from January on.

So, the wait is over. Will you be ordering the IPhone 6, IPhone 6 Plus or the Apple Watch? Perhaps all three, when available?
