How to take a screenshot on your Android device

Have you ever seen something on your device that you want to share with your friends but you do not know how to save it? This guide will show you how to capture an image of your device screen so you can share it with your friends directly or on any social media site.

Firstly, you need to find out what brand of device you have, for example Samsung or Nokia. You can find this usually somewhere on your device, this could be as a logo or actually writing of the brand.

Once you have found this you need to use one of the following methods that correspond to your device:

Samsung

Press and hold the power and home buttons together, another option with Samsung devices is to enable the ability to take a screenshot with palm swipe in the Motions and gestures settings. Also on a Samsung Note device if you hold down the pen button or the pen menu options appear when pulled out; there is an option to take a screenshot with the S Pen.

HTC

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons together.

Sony Xperia

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons together. Alternatively, tap the power button to access options to take a screenshot in the power options menu.

LG

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons together.

Nexus

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons together.

Motorola

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons together.

Once you have your screenshot captured you need to find it, most commonly screenshots are located as a separate folder in your images gallery. Within that folder all your screenshots can be found, from there you can upload them to the internet and show your friends.
