The Galaxy S8 has a wonderful design and part of that design is a glass back. Nothing we all don’t know already. All that said is to say that this glass back is prone to marking up, getting scratches, and fingerprints. Lately, I have liked using Slickwraps on my devices versus cases, but when I want more protection, a case is the way to go. Tech21 has been providing cases for quite a while now and recall seeing them in Best Buy stores often. Well, we have a few to go over for the Galaxy S8.
Galaxy S8 Cases Tech21
The two styles provided for this review are the Tactical and Evo Active. For the most part both a similar with a couple differences. The Tactical is a matte tpu finish and the Evo are of a glossy tpu finish. The structure is about the same as far as cutouts, button covers, and thickness. Another big difference between the two is that the Evo has a lot more grip.
Colors and design wise, the Tactical is plain Jane, nothing to special about it. Minimal design, which is not a bad thing at all. Some people like myself are not into the flashy designs. But if you like to stand out a little more, than the Evo is for you. Especially, with the mint color. Each case has a couple more color selections, so be sure to click the link to view them all.
Overall, the design and structure of these case are well done, except for the button covers. The button covers are not tactile and are hard to press. A major turnoff for me when using a case. Because of the stiff button covers, I will not be using these cases. With that said, be looking for a giveaway over on Twitter.
Other than the button covers issue, the case is pretty good. The Evo has is unique, great grip, and will provide some nice protection. Links are below if you are interested in getting em.
