Flowtica Scribe Review: This AI Pen Records, Transcribes and Summarizes Your Meetings

AI voice recorders are becoming increasingly common, but most of them still look like recording devices. The Flowtica Scribe takes a different approach: it combines a normal writing pen with audio recording, AI transcription, and automatically generated summaries.
I originally planned to use the Scribe to document a family trip through Colorado. After that idea quickly ran into the reality of getting kids to describe their day, I found a different workflow—and eventually discovered that this AI pen made even more sense in my client meetings.

The Flowtica Scribe is an AI recording pen that lets you continue taking handwritten notes while it captures the entire conversation happening around you.

When I received the Flowtica Scribe, I was preparing for a family trip to Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Rocky Mountain National Park and Pikes Peak.
My original plan was to pass the pen around each evening and let the kids record their thoughts about the day.

Instead of detailed travel stories, I mostly got one-word answers and short responses. So I changed the workflow.

FlowMark Makes Important Moments Easy to Find
One of the Scribe’s best features is the physical FlowMark button built into the side of the pen.
If something important comes up while you’re recording, one press marks that exact moment. Flowtica then prioritizes the marked section inside the transcript and summary. A double press can turn that moment into a follow-up item.
This is especially helpful in business meetings. You can discreetly flag a deadline, price, commitment or creative decision without interrupting the conversation or breaking eye contact.
You don’t have to remember a timestamp or scrub through an hour-long audio file afterward.
Automatic Transcripts, Summaries and Action Items
The biggest advantage of the Flowtica Scribe is how little work it requires after a recording.
With many digital recorders, you still need to transfer the audio, upload it to another service and wait for it to be processed. Flowtica’s FlowTran technology transfers recordings wirelessly to the app.

Audio doesn’t always capture the full context of a meeting. Important information may also be written on a whiteboard, sketched on paper or displayed in a presentation.
Flowtica’s Snap It feature lets you photograph handwritten notes, slides, sketches and whiteboards. The app uses OCR to convert the content into searchable information and combines it with the associated recording.
That helps the Scribe bridge the gap between physical handwriting and a searchable digital knowledge base.
This Is Where the Scribe Fits My Work
After the Colorado trip, I started bringing the Flowtica Scribe into client meetings.
That is where the product’s value became much clearer.
I can take a few handwritten notes while remaining engaged with the client. Meanwhile, the pen records the full conversation and keeps track of details I might otherwise miss.
When the meeting ends, I have a transcript, summary and list of action items that I can review, archive or use to create a follow-up email.

It creates very little friction

The Scribe doesn’t stop with a raw transcript. The summaries, action items and searchable information are what make the product useful after the meeting ends.
What Could Be Improved?
The biggest weakness I noticed was surprisingly simple: the ink cartridge.
The pen itself feels sleek and premium, but the ink occasionally skipped and didn’t write as smoothly as I expected. Flowtica includes standard 0.5mm gel refills, so this isn’t a dealbreaker, but the writing experience should feel as refined as the technology inside the pen.
That is an area I would like to see Flowtica improve in future versions.

Final Verdict: Is the Flowtica Scribe Worth It?
The Flowtica Scribe successfully combines something familiar—writing with a pen—with AI recording and organization.
It doesn’t require you to replace your normal habits with another screen. You can keep writing on paper while the technology works quietly in the background.
The ink performance could be better, but the overall recording, transcription and summary workflow is genuinely useful. For client meetings in particular, it can reduce the work required after every conversation while helping ensure that important commitments aren’t forgotten.
