What will Motorola do this year ?

Motorola has been a bit quiet lately and makes me wonder what Motorola will do this year. We’ve had the release of the Galaxy S7/Edge, LG G5 is about to hit the stores, and we’ve begun seeing leaks of what HTC has in store for us this year; that leaves us with Motorola. Granted, Huawei is now in the mix and have seen the P9 previews, we still have not seen anything from Motorola. What I’m most curious about Motorola is if they are going to keep at the pace they have been at with designs or are they going to change things up? If they change things up, will it be subtle or overhauled?

Motorola rebounded themselves last year with the release of the Moto X Pure Edition and Droid Turbo 2. Both of those phones are great worthy to be sitting with the top phones of 2015. Moto Maker is a cool way to customize your device with colors and materials as you see fit. Motorola finally gave us a camera that performs just as well as any other flagship (for the most part) and at cost that won’t break the bank.

Motorola has also provided the G series and has been one of the best selling low cost phones. So will they give us another low cost G series phone as well? Huawei has really stepped up their game in the low cost phone department, along with companies like NUU Mobile. This year could be the most competitive year to date of who will provide the best low cost phone. Who do you think will win that honor this year? I mean Huawei already gave us the Honor 5X that only costs 200 bucks and it’s a solid device. In my opinion, Huawei set the bar in the low cost phones department. But if anyone can knock Huawei off the #1 spot it is Motorola.

At the rate Motorola is going (specifically from 2015) they have full potential to deliver a couple solid phones customers will appreciate. As a matter of fact they could give us four great phones; Moto X, Droid Turbo, E, and G.

I’m really curious to see what Motorola comes up with this year to top what they have done in the past along with compete with other devices like the Galaxy S7/Edge and LG G5. LG decided to take a chance with something new, let’s see if Motorola does the same.

What do you think? Will Motorola take a chance or play it safe? Post your thoughts in the comments below.

Edit: While we know that Levono running the show and has made decisions to use the Levono branding; they have yet to fully make that transition. Therefore, to this point we shall still call this all Motorola.
