[How To] Install A Screen Guard.

One of the first things I think about when purchasing a new device is how I am going to protect it. One of the basic needs in my opinion is a screen protector. Next would be some sort of case or body guard for the device. In this post we will focus on the screen guard.

Installing a screen guard can be a very simple process, but can also become one of the most frustrating parts of protecting your device. Normally I buy at least two screen protectors. One for a backup or if the first installation goes wrong for some odd reason. Generally speaking install a screen guard is simple. There are a few things that you want to ensure, so that the process is as smooth as possible.

1 – Acquire a nice screen cloth. Not one that normally comes with the generic packaging. Go to your local electronics store and buy a quality screen cloth. The generic ones actually leave cloth fragments or lint type of material behind of the device.

2 – Make sure that you have good lighting. This will help when you attempt to inspect the screen to make sure that there are no dust, lint or any kind of particles that could cause bubbles between the screen and the screen guard.

3 – I like to prob the device up on something like a box or case to help viewing and if you do not have a case installed, the device is not being rubbed around on the back side.

4 – Clean your hands. You don’t want to leave any residue on the screen or screen guard if you accidentally touch the two items.

5 – Upon installation of the screen guard, work out the bubbles by using your finger nail, screen cloth or squeegee.  Don’t use anything hard or sharp because that could damage the screen guard and potentially the screen itself.
