Since the launch of the iPhone 15 series, I have tried various cases, and at this point, I think I have my top 3 iPhone cases as of summer 2024. Over the years, I have liked certain kinds of cases. Some are solid choices every time, others I try out, some I like, some I don’t. Bane Tech gets an excellent opportunity to check out many types of cases. From my experience and preferences, here is what I look for out of the case.
- Minimal
- Protective
- Great materials
- Tactile buttons
- Charging port access for accessories
I’m labeling this post as “iPhone” and not as a particular series such as the current 15, because these cases are available for past, present, and future series. Which is great, because if you are changing phones and love the case, chances are you’re going to be able to get that case for the iPhone you’re purchasing.
Top 3 iPhone Cases – in order of how much I use it. Not necessarily from best to worst, but simply what I use the most. Starting with what I use the most. Honestly, it’s a tie between the first two.
Peak Design
Peak Design Everyday Case checks all the boxes I look for in a case. I love the cloth material; it feels great to hold. The built-in loop is practical for holding onto the large iPhone 15 Pro Max. Their accessory ecosystem is top-notch. I really like the credit card-sized tripod. It’s great for on-the-go creative work or video chats.

Nomad Modern Leather
Nomad has supported this channel since the beginning of Bane Tech. I love their products. They’re a tried-and-true brand, and you can never go wrong with any of their products. The Modern Leather Case is my top go-to case. I always go back to it after testing out many other brands and styles.
It’s made of quality leather material with a protective design. One of my favorite things to do with their cases every year is compare the fresh new case to the one I used all year from the previous iPhone model. The patina, over time, looks excellent.

Nomad Rugged
The Rugged case is what I slap on if I know I’m going into a rough environment and want to level up the protection a bit more. For example, when I am doing outdoor activities like camping, fishing, or renovation projects, I know I can get this case messy, and it won’t mess up the phone or case.
I also love the colorways available. I have the Ultra Orange this time, which helps me find the device more easily in messy environments. I’m also a Florida Gators fan and the orange color goes great with my fan apparel. Match the case with a Sport Band for the Apple Watch Ultra 2, and it s a winning combo. The Rugged and Sport units allow some fun customization options.

Final Thoughts
There are so many great case options out there. Honorable mentions for me would include Pitaka for great-looking thin cases, UAG for unique protective designs, and Andar for full leather coverage.
The top 3 iPhone cases I have listed in this post are what I have used repeatedly since I got the iPhone 15 Pro Max. They’re what I used for many previous iPhone series, and I probably will use them for future models.
