Verizon’s Big Red On Display in Atlanta

Verizon’s Big Red On Display in Atlanta

Verizon has a longstanding relationship with First Responders, supporting their on-the-ground efforts in communities across the country in a variety of ways – including disaster response. As part of our Super Bowl 53 efforts, we’ve got Big Red, one of many Verizon Response Assets, on display at Super Bowl Live for a couple of days.

Big Red and her siblings are premier response elements for Verizon’s large class of Response Team assets. These assets are based in Dallas, TX, because this location is centrally located in the US, which allows our Response Team to deploy to either coast in 24 hours.

Big Red and her team deploy to man-made disasters such as 911 and Oklahoma City Bombing and natural disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and wildfires.

This asset arrives on scene providing immediate communications capability using satellite and LTE transmission for high-speed voice and data with a high power WiFi access point. Within 20 minutes of arriving on site and turning the key off, the team will have the unit on the air and ready to provide service to First Responders and survivors.
