This is the smartwatch I am going with…

Over the last couple weeks I have disclosed my search for a new smartwatch. I don’t buy smartwatches like I do with smartphones. For the most part, I stick with a watch for a good year or so. It’s been tempting to get the new LG Watch Sport, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy it.

The LG Watch Sport just didn’t win me over. Yes, I want the latest Android Wear software, mobile payment, stand alone use, etc. However, the price is too high, too big of a watch, and too sporty. If LG would have designed the Style with the same features of the Sport, I would have gotten it.

The Huawei Watch 2 is about to come out and much like the LG Watch Sport, it’s got a sport design. I’m more of a classic watch design. There should be mobile payment support, LTE, and some sort of classic design, but we have not seen that model announced yet. If it does come out, it’s probably going to be expensive.

So that left me with the other watch I was considering, which was the Samsung Gear S3 Classic. Even the Frontier design looks better to me than the LG Watch Sport. What won me over to get the Gear S3 is the ability to use Samsung Pay with a watch and the classic design. Most of all, I was able to get a used one in great condition on Amazon for about $250. Pretty good deal if you ask me. The watch is currently in processing of shipping and should be here in a few days.

Stay tuned for a review when I have the chance to use it for a couple weeks. I’m really curious if I will like it just as much as other Android Wear watches like the Huawei Watch and Moto 360 2nd gen. I think I should end up being a happy camper with the Samsung Gear S3, even though it is Tizen OS.

Being that I am a Verizon subscriber, it would not have made sense to get the Frontier version that supports LTE connectivity. Would be nice, but the Classic should treat me well with bluetooth connection.
