Pin a Tweet to your profile from iOS and Android

Starting today, you can pin a Tweet to your profile from iOS and Android. This is a brand new feature that I am sure Twitter users will love to use. For a long time now many other platforms allow you to pin a post at the top of a news feed and now Twitter jumps on board with the rest; at least being able to do so on the webpage side of things.

Here’s a few reasons why this is a great feature to use especially for Twitter.

  • In the Twitterverse Tweets can easily get lost
  • If you need an important message to be seen by anyone visiting your profile page, it will be the first one viewed
  • Allows you to highlight a specific Tweet
  • Gives more strategies to use for content
  • Keeps a post to the top of your feed while the rest begin to fade as more Tweets are posted

To perform this action on Android follow these steps:

  • Go to your Twitter profile
  • Select the Tweet you want to pin
  • Select the menu button on the top right corner
  • Select Pin this Tweet
  • You will see a warning saying the pin will replace the existing pinned Tweet. If you don’t have a pinned Tweet then there is nothing to worry about. If you do have another pinned Tweet make sure whether or not you want to replace it.
  • That’s it!

To perform this action on iOS follow these steps:

  • Go to the Tweet you want pinned
  • Select the three dot menu button
  • Select Pin this Tweet
  • You will see a warning saying the pin will replace the existing pinned Tweet. If you don’t have a pinned Tweet then there is nothing to worry about. If you do have another pinned Tweet make sure whether or not you want to replace it.
  • That’s it!

This is a pretty cool update to the Twitter apps making managing your Twitter content even easier on the go. This is a feature I plan to use for all the accounts I manage. Do you find this tool useful for you? Let me know in the comments if you like using pinned posts!
