This week was full of variety in tech news, but Android Wear steals the show with the new releases about to come out. If the latest smartwatches are not your cup of tea, then you’ll want to keep reading for more about what happened this week in tech.
Android Wear 2.0
As of today the two new smartphones from LG and Google are now available to purchase. There are a few sites to buy the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport. Those links are below this segment. The buzz about the Sport is that it is definitely the next phase in Android Wear with the ability to be apart from your actual phone for calls, text, and even mobile payments. There’s nothing too special about the Style other than it is cheaper and smaller than the Sport. But keep in mind you’ll miss out on those sweet features mentioned from the Sport.
Google has also given a list of other Android Wear watches that will be getting Android Wear 2.0.

Samsung Issues
Mobile Geezer reported about another mishap at a Samsung facility catching fire. Can’t guess what it’s related to, can you? Yep, another faulty battery to blame. YouTube Live
A few months back YouTube announced that they had rolled out a live streaming feature from mobile devices to a small group of YouTubers. As of this week, if a channel has over 10,000 subscriptions the feature is then available. This is something I loved about using a Samsung device because of the ability to steam live to YouTube from the camera app. It was actually something that drew me to wanting to use a Samsung phone over other phones. Now it’s available to use to a much larger group of creators.

Honor will start rolling out Android Nougat to the Honor 8. This has been a long awaited update not just because of the latest version of Android, but the new revamped EMUI 5.0. Supposedly, Honor has listened to users and tried to scale back the heavy skinned OS EMUI this time around. Personally, it’s not to big of a deal to me as it is just something I can cover up with a stock Android theme.

Chrome has updated to leave room for VR website support. This is a nice development as VR seems to be gaining ground.
