The Note 3 is a near perfect device and has become my top favorite phones I have ever used. However, whoever designed the SIM card tray needs to be slapped… For some odd reason this time around the creators decided to make the SIM card difficult to access and remove.
When I opened the Note 3 in the unboxing I discovered (at least) Verizon tried to pull a fast one and have the SIM card pre-installed in the SIM card tray. Normally the SIM would be in a separate sleeve with the packaging and place the SIM card when ready. Either way the tray is not spring action compared to the past. All you would need to do is press the SIM or SD Card in and the cards would pop out. Those days are gone as far as the Note 3 is concerned.
Follow this guide to access your Note 3’s SIM card:
- Remove the backplate
- Remove the battery
- Remove the SD card
- Use a tool like a pocket knife to inch the SIM card out a little bit at a time. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to cause damage.
- Inch it out until you can grab with your fingers.
- That’s it.
To place back in the tray simply slide the card in until it does not go in any further. There will not be a click to indicate full installation.
