Farewell 2013, Hello 2014 and a Personal Thank You

2013 has come to a close and we now welcome 2014. This year was a fun ride for me as the Editor of this site. It has been a productive and year that had a boost of growth. Speaking of growth, this site has taken on a new mission providing more than just tech, which means growing pains with learning how to manage new content and keep it fresh for you guys.

Reflecting back to how Bane Tech got started I am proud to say the perspective has not changed and I hope to always keep the motto in mind when publishing anything here at Bane Tech. The motto has always been and will continue to be “For The Everyday User Experience.” When I started this blog I had the average, noob and non-expert level user in mind. Personally, I have become the go-to-guy for anything tech related among my family and friends. With my experience using forums like XDA it can be hard to filter through the questions, answers and guides for the issue at hand. That’s where the birth of Bane Tech’s drive came from. I wanted to provide content the is understandable for the novice through the expert.

As Bane Tech grew I was able to produce reviews for techie accessories, which went right along with the purpose of this site. As a consumer I would always look up user reviews before making a purchase because I didn’t want to trust a company’s advertisement. Rather a customer will give an honest opinion of the product. Then it hit me, I could do this too and as result I began making reviews of products. Reviews has really become the vast majority of the content provided here at this site and I have enjoyed doing so. As I create reviews I never create a review as an advertisement and intend to give an honest opinion of the product; all while trying to give you guys a professional, quality review. In short, I want to do your homework for you.

If you have followed the site for a while now you may have noticed some changes. Those changes are addition of content. For the longest time I attempted to keep Bane Tech separate from my personal life, beliefs and opinions. This year God spoke to me asking me to combine all my passions into one spot. So far I have liked the change. It was hard enough to keep up with one site anyways. This year I have come to the conviction that the internet is just as much as a mission field as any physical location on earth. Basically, use technology for the Christian advantage. The internet is a means of communication and is not of the Devil. It is something that can be used as an encouragement, platform and place to build a community. While I realize not everyone is a Christian or agree with me on certain issues, I always intent to speak in love and truth. Grace. Selah.

Bane Tech has given me an opportunity to reach down and discover talents I never knew I had and challenge me to manage life with priorities, deadlines and competition. But the aspect I absolutely appreciate more than anything Bane Tech has provided is connecting with people. This site provides a gateway introducing me to new people on a regular basis. Whether the connection is made through a company or viewer, I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and building friendships.

With that said, I held out to the end of this post for the best part. I want to thank you for hanging out with me and being part of this small blog! There are TONS of other sites, blogs and reviewers to follow (who do amazing work) but you still choose to stick around here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching, reading and interacting with me through the various forms of networks I am part of. Thank you for sharing, promoting and simply hanging out. Thanks to the bloggers, reviewers and writers out there who have helped out the little guy.

Bane Tech is growing and I am so glad you are along for the ride. 2014 is going to be a great year and I can’t wait to discover what lies ahead!

If Bane Tech has impacted, helped or made a difference in your life in any form or fashion please share in the comments. I’d love to hear your experiences with this blog.
