I have many Bluetooth Speakers around the house, but now that I have the Chromecast Audio they are all just lay around. This is a new addition to the collection and this is my review.
In the box:
Instruction booklet
Speaker unit
AUX cable (1 ft)
Micro-USB cable (1 ft)
I have a variety of Bluetooth speakers as you know, and I have to say that this is one of the flashiest as well as my House of Marley speaker. This is because of the ‘Titanium-Grey’ chrome like finish no the Zinc-Alloy shell. It has a blue ‘waistband’ and also some blue trim surrounding the 5W driver. The speaker has a big plastic silver button on the top which you use to turn it off and on, and also to pair with Bluetooth enabled devices. The speaker has a rubber pad on the bottom to stop it slipping on surfaces which I really appreciate, because you know it won’t move.
What I like about the speaker:
One thing that I like about the speaker is the speaker looks really cool, with its Titanium-grey zinc alloy shell. IT just looks so futuristic and shiny. I like the fact that it has a AUX input option as well because, some devices maybe not support Bluetooth, so it is good to see companies using this as another option as well. I also like how loud this speaker gets, it is quite a small compact device and the bass it provides it very pleasing. I do like my bass and this seems to satisfy the needs when playing music through it.
What I don’t like about the product:
One thing that I don’t like about the product is the sound quality is the best, this is because the music kept skipping a little and breaking up which didn’t make for a good listening experience. I am not sure if it was just the unit that I received but it was not the best. Another thing is that the speaker too ages to pair with my device, I have a nexus 6 and I also tried it with my dads Nexus 5X and my sisters Xperia Z2, but they all took so long around 15 minutes of waiting for the product to pair. Again it might just be my unit. I thought it would be quick as it is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 as well. One last thing about the speaker is that sometimes randomly it would making a monotone buzzing noise which you hear while playing music and then it would stop and start again, it was really strange. when taking calls from the speaker (as it has a microphone) I could hear some crackling and the person on the receiving end said that I sounded patchy when taking which isn’t a good sign. I think that it could have just been the unit that I received though.
Overall, my experience with the speaker was ok, but I think that the sound quality could have been better, and also the noises and the long paring times took away from the beautiful product. If you would like to buy this product you can get it from Amazon. It also works on Android or iOS.
