dbrand inc. iPhone 5s Wood Skin Installation and Review

Skins have the potential to really transform the look of your iPhone into something unique and personal. Even more so wood skins gave become popular as of late. Carbon fiber skins have been around for quite some time now and it’s nice to have a little change of pace. Wood skins look cool to me and drand inc. offers a nice collection to of skins to customize your iPhone. Not too mention the plethora of other supported devices.

The installation was actually easy. In the past I have had trouble with the front panel skin’s thin sides for the bezel next next to the screen. They are so thin that at times it makes it difficult to install. But if you use the sticker backing as a means to align the skin correctly it strengthens your chances of a smooth installation. The front panel is the most difficult part of the installation. The rest of the skins are smooth sailing. The back is the easiest to install because of the solid piece. The sides take a little more skill but is not hard to master. The precise cutouts help with the installation allowing you to align perfectly. Overall, the installation process wasn’t a hard task. iPhones typically are among the easier of the devices to install skins because of the flat design.

This wood skin looks really cool on the white iPhone 5S. The color in my opinion matches well with the sliver and white accents. On top of that iOS 7 helps compliment the skin well. This was the first wood skin I have used and I must say wood skins will be considered for future purchases. In the past at I typically went the carbon fiber route sporting either neon green or black colors, but wood ones have made it to the top of the favorites now.

What do you think? Have wood skins been on your radar? Let me know in the comments.
