Apple’s iPhones, iPads and Pencils…

Apple’s September event brought a new the iPhones like usual; the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. We also saw a monstrous iPad with a 12.9 inch screen. There was the new Apple TV and one other thing. A pencil. The Apple Pencil is a stylus that was made for the new iPad. It is apparently very accurate and can be used at different angles and pressures.

The new iPhones aren’t much different from the last in terms of design but the internals are slightly different. The new iPhones have faster A9 chipsets, a new Touch-ID sensor which is faster than before, a 12MP camera capable of shooting upto 4K video and lastly 3D touch. 3D touch is essentially the ‘force touch’ we saw on the new Macs but now on a screen. By increasing the pressure you use to touch, you can see different options, multitask and get peeks of emails, photos etc.

The new iPhones seemed to solve the ‘bendgate’ problem as they use a more sturdy 7000 series aluminium. This makes then a couple grams heavier than the previous iPhones.

Alongside the iPhones, a new iPad was released. The iPad Pro. This beast has a 12.9 inch retina display with 2732‑by‑2048 resolution.  It also packs a A9X processor which tears through apps and gaming. Although it is not confirmed, the new iPad is said to have 4GB RAM. That is the most for any iOS device ever. The iPad Pro has speakers on every side to give a better sound quality. Apple has included a 8MP camera however I doubt anyone will take pictures with this thing. Released with this iPad is the Apple Pencil. It is essentially a stylus built for the iPad Pro. It charges with a lightning connector but it plugs into the iPad Pro itself meaning it sticks out and could break easily. But if your pencil budget is $100 then why not buy this one.

The iPad Pro is more expensive starting at $800 while the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are $650 and $750 respectively for the 16 GB model. Both are available in a new color, Rose Gold, which is just a fancy way of saying light pink. All these devices run iOS 9 out of the box and the public beta is also out. You can get your new iPhone on the 25 of September while the new iPad is coming in November.
